Today I picked up my canvas print from Meijer. I love it! It came out beautifully and was so easy to do. I did mine at the kiosk at the store, but you can do it right from home and pick up the next day. I chose a picture that my friend, JoDee Yost, took of me and Connor when Connor was 6 months old. It is my favorite photo of us together. I just love it. Right now (through January 7th I believe) you can load a coupon to your mperks account to get a canvas print for 50% off. I might have to order another one!

Review: Kroger's Private Selection line of gormet food

I received coupons from Bzz Agent to try Kroger's Private Selection new line of food. I got an appetizer, a pizza and a dessert. I have to say I LOVED it, much more than I expected to. The appetizers I chose were southwestern chicken trumpts (cheese, peppers, chicken). They were so good. My pizza choice was garlic and pepperoni (big chunks of garlic and cheese), oh so good! For dessert I chose chocolate lava cakes. I have not had the cakes yet, I'm too full from eating everything else. I don't think there is any chance though that I won't like it. The pizza was so delicious. I liked it more than anything I've ever had from Pizza Hut or another chain. It reminded me some of the pizza we ate in Connecticut at Pepe's. I have a new favorite. Glen and I shared it for our lunch date today. It was perfect for 2 people. Can't wait to get it again!

A couple weeks ago I got a box of Fekkai's glossing shampoo and conditioner. I love it! My hair feels so soft and silky after each wash. I got a sample of the glossing cream as well. I didn't like that as much as the shampoo set. I don't know if I used too much of the cream (I only used a pea sized amount) or not, but my hair felt a little on the greasy side with the cream. I was so excited about the new shampoo though that I looked for it at Target. It was more than $20 for the shampoo and conditioner. I wasn't expecting it to be that much. So right now I'm thinking this is going to be a possible treat from time to time, not my mainstay shampoo. We'll have to see. I still have half a bottle left so it's easy for me to say that now.

Review: Burt Bees Sensitive Skin line

I received a Bzz kit with a full size Burt Bees sensitive skin cleanser and daily moisturizer recently. I LOVED them. I do have sensitive skin and these products are fragrance free, dye free, etc and worked great. I felt like the cleanser really cleaned my skin without stripping it. And the moisturizer feels great. I can't wait to try the eye cream and the night cream as well. If you're thinking about buying it, Target has coupons on their website right now that you can use with a manuf. coupon to save any more. I think I'll have to make a Target run this week!

Cookie review: Krogers truly Awesome Chocolate Chip Cookies

I recently signed up as a Bzz Agent with www.bzzagent.com. As an agent, they send me samples of different products to try. In return, I write reviews, share coupons and tell friends about the products.
Yesterday I received two boxes of Kroger's The Truly Awesome™ Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies. The kids and I opened them immediately. The loved the cookies. I liked the cookies, but didn't fall in love with them. I thought they were a little dry and the cookies were all broken in the box. Of course, mine were mailed to me. I didn't get them at the store. I do have to say they were full of chocolate chips which made them an instant hit with my kids. I believe there were 8 cookies in a box. If I have a coupon and they are on a good sale, I might be tempted to get them again. However, I think I'll stick with homemade. Nothing quite beats fresh from the oven.

We're Here! (I know, its almost been 3 months)

It has been so long, is anyone still out there? I've thought many times that I need to make time to sit down and write, but alas, something always comes up. Today though, I'm doing it!

Surprise!!! We've moved. We moved into our house the week of Halloween. Being with Glen again and getting settled into our first house has been wonderful. I wake up every morning so grateful that Glen has a job and that we have a house. I really love being out of our apartment.

Moving was crazy! I am so grateful for all my amazing Hamden friends for coming to help me load the truck and for Lauren helping me scrub floors. The drive to Fort Wayne as happily uneventful. Having a movie player in the van is a saving grace. I don't know how we survived the dark ages without movie players!

I feel so fortunate to have spent the last three months painting, hanging up pictures, changing some light fixtures, putting up wainscoting (that not so fun) and organizing closets.

Glen's job is going very well so far! He works for Wells Fargo as a banker. That means he sets up new accounts, does car loans, helps refinance houses, sells CDs, basically everything but home loans. He's trying to build a client base, so if you need anything, talk to Glen. He's still working at Outback, but only on Saturday nights. There is only one Outback in Fort Wayne and it happens to be 3 minutes from our house. I love that.

Kate is doing wonderfully, shocker I know. She's a rock star at school. Everything comes so easily to her. She tells everyone that she and Rachel have a bigger bedroom and bathroom and Glen and me. She's funny.

Rachel is making the adjustment much better than I thought she would. She still reminds me that she misses Grammy and Pa and her friends in Connecticut. Fortunately there are kids on our cul-de-saq they can play with outside and she's been invited to a couple of birthday parties already. Her school class is a little ahead than where they were in Connecticut, so we're working on a few things and she's working hard.

Connor, Connor, Connor. Connor is hilarious. He is obsessed with cars. He growls at cars and has to have a hot wheel in each hand at all times. Right now his favorite are Ferraris. He can say Ferrari too. His other favorites are Porsches and Corvettes. Yes, he has expensive taste. There is a Porsche dealership close to our house and he stares and growls every time we pass by. It cracks me up. No surprise he had a car themed Christmas. Right now he's watching the movie Cars so I can type.

I'm still on cloud 9. We're employed and have a home. This past year of less than pleasantries helped put life in perspective for me. I know we've been watched over and have been richly blessed. I'm not saying life is perfect, but things are much better. I LOVE having a house if I haven't mentioned that already. One of my favorite parts of the house....the garage!!! I love pulling into the garage rain, sleet, snow or shine and closing the door. No more getting soaked putting kids in the car and making a dozen trips in the rain with groceries. I also love having a dining room. It is free from all clutter and I can't see my messy kitchen when we sit down for dinner. We have a guest room so I'm hoping that we'll have lots of visitors here. Apparently we have an awesome zoo in Fort Wayne and a kids science museum. I look forward to checking them both out when it is not so cold. I have been getting to know some very nice people here, but I miss all my friends in Connecticut. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually grateful for Facebook so I can keep up with everyone. So everyone keep posting and putting up pictures!!
