Connor's Laughing

Having a little baby at home is so wonderful! It is so hard to believe our little boy is 4 months old now! Yesterday he rolled over for the first time. He's been getting up on his side since he was a week old, but hadn't figured out how to get all the way over and get his arm out until yesterday. Once he did it he didn't like it. But what did he do? He rolled over and over again. It was very cute. He gave Glen lots of laughs, which we love. We recorded it for all to enjoy!

The job search

As many of you know, Glen lost his job as a teacher. As did many schools in Connecticut, Middletown had budget cuts. Despite this being a terrible time to lose a job, we think it will be a blessing. He has not been very happy teaching and looks at this as a great opportunity to try something new and better. That is where you come in! We know that networking is the key to finding a job. Right now he is willing to do anything, but would really be interested in training & development, inside sales, or anything that would use his Spanish. We'd love to live near family and friends, but are willing to go anywhere.

Any help or leads you can offer are greatly appreciated. You can contact me, or email Glen directly at glenhargan@yahoo.com. Thanks for the help!

What's for dinner?

Swimming lessons at the Y resumed last week. Kate and Rachel love their lessons. On the way home the questions about dinner started. Just for fun I told them we were having barfo bits (you can guess what that is). Kate's reply, "I don't think I've had that before." Rachel asked, "is that what we had for breakfast?"

The joy of early morning infomercials

Glen and I have been "blessed" with really early risers. I cherish good sleep and am thrilled when Kate sleeps until 6:30am. Unfortunately that rarely happens, but when it does, there is rejoicing. Since we only have basic cable, PBS is all we've got for kids shows and it doesn't start until 7am. A little to late for us! I told Kate I don't really like her watching TV at 5am because who knows what kind of programming is on and whether it is appropriate for a 5 1/2 year old (she says she is way older than 5 year olds since she is 5 1/2). Kate told me not to worry that there is a great stretching show she watches in the morning and it helps her get in her exercise. Only Kate.

Yesterday we were taking a stroll through Costco when Kate started jumping up and down with excitement. On the shelf was the Magic Bullet, see above. Yesterday when Kate woke up at dawn she watched the wonderful infomercial advertising the Magic Bullet. This was Kate...

"Mom! Look it is the Magic Bullet! This thing is amazing! It chops, grinds, everything! You can cook anything in 8 minutes or less! You can chop an onion Mom and never cry again! It even comes with the juicer express. You can make juice from anything! You can even put a watermelon, with the green on and make watermelon juice! You'll never need to buy anything ever again Mom and won't have to spend so much time in the kitchen. Really Mom, it is amazing. I'm telling the truth!"

Glen and I about died laughing. I had to take out a piece of paper and take notes as she was talking. I'm sure if they had Kate on their commercials they'd sell more. She was so excited to share all the benefits of it with us. I can't wait to have her home from school so I can hear all her funnies every day.
