Rachel saw the eye surgeon yesterday and now gets to wear an eye patch every day. She is less than excited. The good news is that she doesn't need glasses or surgery, at least for now. The vision in eye with the cataract (left eye) is worse than her right eye. She has to wear the patch to try to strengthen the left eye. We'll go in again in two months to reevaluate.
Today was day one with the patch. She only has to wear it for two hours a day and it was a long two hours! The patches are adhesive but didn't stick very well. Rach kept trying to cheat so I had to tape it on. Hopefully it will help!

Hey April, my cousin went through the same thing with her oldest but it was 24/7 patching for nearly a year. She started making her own patches so her daughter could pick out a patch to go with her outfit and feel cute even with the patch. She loved them so much that my cousin's doctor asked her to start making them for her to sell in the office. If this sounds interesting to you, email me.
